New employees are eligible for State Health Benefit plan upon hire. Existing employees that have a qualifying event may be eligible for coverage.
 
Qualifying events include, but are not limited to:
 
  1. Birth or adoption of a child, or placement for adoption.
  2. Change in residence by you or your spouse that result in ineligibility for coverage in your selected option because of location.
  3. Death of a spouse or child, if the only dependent enrolled.
  4. Your spouse’s or dependent’s loss of eligibility for other for other group health coverage.
  5. Marriage or divorce.
  6. Medicare eligibility.
If you experience a qualifying event, you may be able to make changes for yourself and your dependents if you make the request within the required time period of qualifying event which in most cases is 31 days.

*If you experience a life changing event such as Marriage, Birth, Death please come in to make necessary changes. (Beneficiaries, dependents, Etc.)*
