Pelham City Converts from Strategic Waiver
School System (SWSS) to Charter System
In accordance with the State of Georgia Article 4, O.C.G.A. § 20-2-84, the Pelham City School District chose to operate as a Strategic Waiver School System (SWSS) through the development of the SWSS/IE2 partnership contract between our school district and the State Board of Education (SBOE) beginning July 1, 2015.
Due to the desire for an increase in flexiblity and innovation in conjunction with the creation of a College and Career Academy, Pelham City Schools petitioned the State Board of Education to become a Charter System effective July 1, 2018. The petition was approved by the SBOE on May 3, 2018.
