Principal's Message

Dear Hornet Nation:

We are so excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year at Pelham City Middle School!  I am honored and humbled to continue to serve as the principal of Pelham City Middle School, which will serve 5th-8th grade students again this year.

Last school year, 2020-2021, was a year that will never be forgotten.  Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during such a difficult time.  I am proud to say that our students continued to grow in their learning in SY21, and I am excited to see the “learning leaps” that they will make in SY22.

The start of a new school year creates a feeling of rebirth and hope.  Our theme this year is New Beginnings. While we’ll continue many of the same initiatives we’ve had in place for the past few years, there will be new opportunities available to help our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We will “Take 5” and focus on building relationships, building character, building culture, building capacity, and building our future.  We will do this by setting clear and high behavior and academic expectations, providing rigorous classroom instruction in a standards-based framework, and engaging our students in the work.  It is our desire that all of our students reach their highest potential.  By providing various support nets and enrichment opportunities, I am certain that this can be achieved.

Recognizing the need for parent, family, and community engagement in the educational process, I invite you all to become actively involved in Pelham City Middle School by following us on Facebook, reviewing our website, attending school events and meetings, or volunteering at our school.  We encourage your participation and support as we work together as a team to make this the best year possible for our students.
