Principal's Message

Kimberly Nesmith
PCMS Principal

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Pelham City Middle School!  I am honored and humbled to serve as the principal of Pelham City Middle School.

The start of a new school year is always exciting, and this year is no exception.  We have many new opportunities available to help our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically.  Our theme this year is, “Think, Speak, and Act Positively.”  I truly hope that this statement will resonate with our students, teachers, and families as we build relationships with one another and create a positive school climate.  We will strive to build positive relationships by participating in team building, offering Academic Parent Teacher Team Meetings for 6th grade parents (APTT), communicating effectively, volunteering in community service projects, and expanding our club and extra-curricular/athletic offerings.

In addition to building relationships, we will continue to build upon the strong academic foundation of our students by setting clear and high expectations, providing rigorous classroom instruction in a standards-based framework, and engaging our students.  It is our desire that all of our students reach their highest potential.  By providing various support nets, I am certain that this can be achieved.

Recognizing the need for parent, family, and community engagement in the educational process, I invite you all to become actively involved in Pelham City Middle School.  Since communication is vital for success, please take time to acquaint yourself with our website.  Also, please sign up for Remind and Parent Portal, follow us on FaceBook, and review our website regularly in order to keep up with the latest Pelham City Middle School news.

Please feel free to contact us about problems, concerns, questions, or compliments. We encourage your participation and support as we work together as a team to make this the best year possible for our students.
