Principal's Message

Dr. Clark Harden

Welcome to Pelham High School, home of the Hornets! Pelham High School is an awesome school where students come first, academics are a priority, and excellence is strived for both inside and outside the classroom. We are proud to offer wide-ranging opportunities for participation and learning through athletics, academic teams, and school organizations.

I am looking forward to another fabulous year and the opportunity to continue working with an outstanding staff, incredible students, and an awesome community. Our school is part of a forward-thinking school district that strives to be on the cutting edge of education as we aim to equip all students to be college and career ready by the time they graduate. At Pelham High School, as well as throughout the Pelham City Schools Charter System, staff and students are supported with the latest resources to allow them to function at the highest levels in modern education.

A culture of continuous improvement will continue to exist at Pelham High School. We will continue to hold ourselves and students to high levels of accountability through maintaining a high standard of a positive climate and culture in our building. While we refine the ways we collaborate, make decisions, and solve problems together, we will continue our strong focus on improving literacy for all our students. These measures will allow us to continue offering a first-class education.

Our staff is comprised of caring, creative, and committed professional educators who are determined to help students reach the high expectations put forth in the classroom. Students, teachers, support staff, parents, and community members are viewed as part of our comprehensive learning community. We all play a role in helping each other learn. I encourage you to visit or contact us if you have any questions or would like to learn more about Pelham High School.

During the school day, all students participate in a fifty minute remediation and/or acceleration time known as HELO (Hornet Extended Learning Opportunities). Students may receive remediation, complete missing assignments, or participate in one of a number of acceleration activities. Our NEST (Needs Eliminated Students Triumph) program was designed to allow any student to meet with his or her teacher(s) after school to receive any additional help with their academics that they may need to be successful.

With great Hornet Pride,

Dr. Clark Harden
